Original watercolor attributed to Belgian artist Marie Louise Stradiot-Bougnet (1907–1953), known for her African travel works and mentioned in Lynn Thornton’s Les Africanistes: Peintres voyageurs.

This refined study depicts a carved Luba caryatid stool, rendered with strong sculptural presence and subtle watercolor tones. The composition reflects the artist’s fascination with Central African art and ethnographic objects during the 1930s.
