Original watercolor by Belgian artist Marie Louise Stradiot-Bougnet (1907–1953), known for her African travel works and mentioned in Lynn Thornton’s Les Africanistes: Peintres voyageurs.

This small and charming composition, dated 1933, depicts two children beside a goat in a quiet everyday scene. The work combines delicate observation with the intimate atmosphere typical of travel sketches and field studies from the period.
